I walk the line of uncertainty
holding two worlds in each hand
If I were to stumble, to fall, who’d catch me ;
Tell me, which side would I land
Staying and fighting your option
But to leave and start over a tempt
cling to innocence, ignorance, acceptance
you grow not. you ask not. In vain
I walk the line of uncertainty
Balancing two worlds in each hand
If I were, to stumble, to fall, who’d catch me ;
Tell me, which side would I land?
A world black and white here in scripture,
I look up to all shades of grey
That sucks colour out of redemption,
Where is the room for change?
I walk the line of uncertainty
clutching two worlds in each hand
If I were, to stumble, to fall, who’d catch me ;
So tell me, which side will I land?
I stumble along in uncertainty
losing two worlds built on sand
I stumble and fall, into chasms
tell me, which side do I land?
I walk the line of calamity
I misstep and falter again
If I were to scream from the canyon who’d hear me?
I climb out, which side do I stand?
I sit here alone in uncertainty
I hear just a voice on the wind
"My child you are lost, let me find you
Stretch out and I’ll take your hand"
I am pulled out of uncertainty
I kneel here, on solid ground again
But I am ashamed, afraid, and broken
Tell me Lord, why do you understand?
“Because I walked this road here before you
I suffered, I was tempted, afraid
I know your pain and uncertainty
My child lift you face to me again”
I leave behind that uncertainty
I look to His face yet again
Draw water, repentance, forgiveness
Lord I will love you again.
As the water pours down, I am crowned
With beauty and honor I’m cleansed.
“Follow me and see through uncertainty
I have made you a daughter again.”
